Projects

CCBR typically has 15-20 ongoing projects and has completed over 500 projects since 1982. Each project is guided by our commitment to impacting social change in practical and powerful ways. We conduct research with people not on people, cultivating respect with communities at every step of the process.

Projects can be searched for using words from the project title or using the service area, theme, or date range for the project. You can also type 'Service Area' or 'Theme' into the search bar to get a list of options in each of these fields.

The Centre for Community Based Research partnered with Wading through the Weeds: A Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and Parenting with Cannabis Study to support the co-design of a 1-day research forum for public health and allied health care providers as well as pregnant and breast/chest feeding individuals who consume cannabis. The event strove to share research findings, reduce stigma, and spark conversation and dialogue amongst health care practitioners and individuals who also use cannabis while pregnant and/or breast or chest-feeding.  Importantly, the event also worked to create the conditions for pregnant and chest feeding/breast feeding individuals to self-advocate and feel heard by health care professionals.

CCBR played a supportive role in this event by providing forum consultation, facilitation of select team meetings, and support with co-design of event agendas and activities.

The event took place in Toronto, in April 2026.
