Projects
CCBR typically has 15-20 ongoing projects and has completed over 500 projects since 1982. Each project is guided by our commitment to impacting social change in practical and powerful ways. We conduct research with people not on people, cultivating respect with communities at every step of the process.
Projects can be searched for using words from the project title or using the service area, theme, or date range for the project. You can also type 'Service Area' or 'Theme' into the search bar to get a list of options in each of these fields.

The Centre for Community-Based Research (CCBR) conducted a 360 Degree Performance Assessment for an Associate Vice President of Research at York University. We gathered feedback through surveys and optional interviews to support her professional development and pursuit of future opportunities.
The purpose of the project was to provide a comprehensive and confidential record of her performance in this leadership role.
Guided by CCBR’s collaborative approach, the assessment sought to explore the following questions:
- To what degree is she perceived to have excelled in the core competencies and behaviors of her role?
- What outcomes are attributed to her performance as Associate Vice President of Research?
- What areas for future growth and development are recommended?
The assessment included a customized survey distributed to many colleagues who had worked with the Associate Vice President her role. In addition, CCBR offered one-on-one interviews to participants who preferred to share their reflections verbally.
