Projects

CCBR typically has 15-20 ongoing projects and has completed over 500 projects since 1982. Each project is guided by our commitment to impacting social change in practical and powerful ways. We conduct research with people not on people, cultivating respect with communities at every step of the process.

Projects can be searched for using words from the project title or using the service area, theme, or date range for the project. You can also type 'Service Area' or 'Theme' into the search bar to get a list of options in each of these fields.

CCBR, in partnership with the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC), supported evaluation capacity building across 20+ Roots of Hope communities through a national Community of Practice focused on community-based evaluation and learning.

This project combined foundational learning, practical application, and sustained one-on-one coaching to help communities better understand and apply evaluation in ways that reflected local priorities, strategies, and contexts.

Through a national presentation, an applied workshop, and quarterly coaching sessions over the course of a year, communities were supported by a CCBR coach through one-on-one engagement to troubleshoot challenges, interpret findings, and use evaluation as a tool for ongoing learning and improvement.

As part of this work, CCBR also helped facilitate the Roots of Hope Summit, creating opportunities to strengthen connection, collaboration, and sustainability across the Community of Practice. CCBR’s workshops focused on relationship-building, peer learning, and evaluation support.

The project culminated in a year-end narrative synthesis that captured evaluation practices, early evidence of impact, and cross-community learning. This work provided a practice-informed, pan-Canadian understanding of how evaluation supported community-driven suicide prevention efforts while strengthening long-term local evaluation capacity.
