We conduct research with people not on people, cultivating respect with communities at every step of the process.

    9223_ Recommendations for Family Health Support in Waterloo Region

    CCBR made recommendations to ensure that family support and conditions that contribute to healthy child development are integrated into the Region of Waterloo’s Growth Management Strategy and Ontario's Best Start framework.

    9225_ Best Start Early Childhood Development (ECD) Needs Assessment
    CCBR supported a provincial scan of health promotion training and support needs for service providers for young children and their families, through consultation on research tools and methods, design and implementation of province-wide survey, and analysis of key informant and survey data. This work was funded by Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse.

    CCBR analyzed program evaluation data for Catholic Family Services of Peel Dufferin.

    9227_ Early School Leavers in Ontario

    CCBR supported a provincial research study about understanding the lived reality of disengagement from school. This study was funded by the Hospital for Sick Children.

    9228_ Evaluation Planning for the Ontario Network of Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centres

    This project's purpose was to consult with regional service providers of Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centres in Ontario to determine priorities for outcome evaluation, to review current tracking data, and to develop a plan for future evaluation.

    9229_ HIV Education Evaluation Support

    CCBR advised on tools and methods for evaluating the outcomes of HIV education programming targeting high schools, a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Youth Group, and ethnocultural communities in Kitchener-Waterloo. This evaluation was funded by AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo & Area (ACCKWA).

    9230_ Preparatory Phase of Immigrant Employment Council

    This community development project developed the necessary infrastructure to launch an Immigrant Employment Council in Waterloo Region. The project was funded by KW Community Foundation (Jim & Susan Hallman Fund, TD Canada Trust Mery Lahn Community Development Fund), McDonald Green, Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, Communitech, Canada’s Technology Triangle, Inc, Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, and CCBR.

    9231_ Analysis of Immigrant Skills in Hamilton

    CCBR gathered and analyzed data on the types of immigrant skills available in Hamilton, the need for these skills in the economy, the extent to which immigrant skills are currently being utilized, and what is needed to facilitate immigrant employment in the Hamilton community. This study was funded by the Hamilton Training and Advisory Board.

    9232_ Keeping Women and Children Safe: Systemic Change through Commitment and Action
    CCBR conducted an outcome measurement review and evaluation of services to determine organizational success at achieving outcome objectives for Family Transition Place. The purpose of this review was to provide recommendations for future outcome reporting to an organization that provides residential and counselling services to women and their children who have experienced abuse
    9233_ Safer Families Project (Violence Against Women in Peel)

    CCBR evaluated a differential response to families affected by women abuse. This evaluation was funded by Region of Peel.

    9234_ Preschool Intervention Program for Children with Autism

    CCBR developed a framework and recommendations for ongoing evaluation of a provincial program for young children with autism and conducted an evaluation plan for the Preschool Intervention Program for Children with Autism. This work was funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

    9235_ Review of Strategic Plan for Waterloo Region Catholic District School Board

    CCBR consulted with students and employees about the use they had made of a strategic plan completed two years previously and made recommendations about next steps with respect to updating or renewing the strategic plan.
